Tremors in the night
A Felyne runs in fright
Hiding out of sight
But soon it is found
Shivering in fear
And when it looks around
Its foe's already here
Run, young Felyne, run!
You have to get away!
For this beast is never done
Until it snags its prey

  • Enraged Mode: Indicated by a glowing throat with fire and smoke emanating from its nostrils and mouth. Its normally hidden "wings" also flare out from its back.
  • Rampage: Anjanath fills the rampage gatecrasher icon monster hunter rise wiki guideGate Crasher Role during Rampage missions. As the name implies, Gate Crashers focus on rushing towards and destroying gates, ignoring hunters for the most part. These monsters should be a top priority! Strategic use of Dragon Bait and special attacks from Hunting Installations to keep them off of the gates is the key to surviving the Rampage.

Quick Combat Tips:

  • Anjanath's weaknesses are its legs and head. It is also highly susceptible to knockdowns. Applying constant pressure to these parts will keep it downed consistently.
  • When enraged, Anjanath becomes more aggressive and gains access to fiery attacks. Focus attacks on its throat to knock it out of its rage, triggering a special stagger animation with extended knockdown. However, keep in mind that its general head area is also the most dangerous place to be around.
  • Stay mobile. Anjanath has a lot of counters that it will happily use should you linger around a body part for too long. Vary your approach and keep moving around the monster.
  • Anjanath will inflict Fireblight with its fiery attacks when enraged, including its standard bite attacks due to the flames spewing from its snout. Dodge continually to remove the effect or use a Nulberry.
  • Be ready for any incoming attack from the front by dodging it to the side and quickly hit it on the side, on the legs or the head while the monster is on recovery, specially when it hits the ground with its face and gets shortly stucked in there.
  • Anjanath gives a lot of space so it is generally safe to stay away whenever you need to heal or recover stamina.
  • You can also approach from the front executing a combo moving forward until you are under its neck, and perform another combo to hit its legs as that position is very awkward for the monster.
  • If you are close to the monster, dodging to the front by getting under it, you will gain a lot of space at reach distance to attack Anjanath.
  • Anjanath becomes more and more clumsy as the hunters take its health down, specially by focusing damage on its legs. But the same time, it becomes more aggresive and spams more attacks, maybe even becoming more unpredictable. But at the same time its attacks are more less precise.
  • Most of Anjanath's attack are focused on one target, and it always leaves its back and sides exposed. Being accompanied by a palamtute, a palico and/or other hunters, makes the battle much easier as it gets easily distracted by other targets.

MH Rise Anjanath Attacks & Moveset

  • Quick Bite - Anjanath opens up its massive jaw and lunges towards hunters. It performs this attack in either single or triple variations. Both variations don't have a very large hit box but they can come in very quickly so stay vigilant.
  • Head Bash - Anjanath raises its entire torso as it takes a couple of steps forward and then smashes its head forward, sending any hunters caught in the attack flying. This attack has a very wide hitbox and will catch hunters all the way down to the monster's legs.
  • Crushing Grip - Anjanath swipes with its jaws in a more horizontal arc and then follows up with a powerful bite. If the first hit connects, the hunter is forced on their knees and then grabbed by the follow-up bite. Anjanath then crushes the hunter in its jaws and then slams them on the ground dealing two instances of damage.
  • Lunging Strike - Anjanath flares out its wings and drives its jaws into the ground, kicking up dirt and debris while lunging forward twice. Deals massive damage and has a very wide hitbox. Get out of its path when you see the wings.
  • Crushing Leap - Anjanath takes a quick step back and then leaps towards its target, crushing them with its powerful legs. Deals heavy damage and knocks hunters down. This attack becomes much faster when Anjanath is enraged.
  • Flame Breath - Anjanath pulls its head back in a highly vertical motion and lets loose a massive fiery breath attack in a straight line in front of it. Deals massive damage on a direct hit but the hitzone is equally narrow at both the flame's start and end points. Only used when the monster is enraged.
  • Flame Sweep - Anjanath winds up by pulling its head to the side and then sprays a small jet of flames from its nostrils, sweeping it in an arc in front of the monster. Only used when the monster is enraged.
  • Tail sweep - Anjanath winds-up and spins around, sending its tail sweeping in a 180 degree arc, knocking away any players hit and dealing moderate damage. The tail's sheer mass will also whip up a gust of air that can stagger hunters who avoid the direct hit.
  • Tail Whip - If hunters stay near Anjanath's rear for too long, it raises its tail up high and then slaps the ground twice in a crisscross diagonal motion. Deals light damage.
  • Back Kick - Staying behind Anjanath's legs will cause it to raise a leg and kick backwards. Deals light damage but can trip players in the area.
  • Hip Check - Anjanath throws its entire lower body to the side to knock away any pesky hunters and thwart their attempts to flank it.
  • Rock Toss - Anjanath plunges its mighty jaw into the ground and hurls a large chunk of debris at distant hunters. It will rarely do this if you keep within melee range.
  • Jho Smash - Anjanath moves towards a target and attempts to crush it with its jaws, similar to one of Deviljho’s trademark attacks. Does heavy damage if it connects. This attack is heavily telegraphed, and your hunter will signify a warning before this attack commences. Anjanath only performs this move in Master Rank.
