Garangolm is a Large Monster in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR). It is a new Fanged Beast introduced in the Sunbreak Expansion. Large Monsters are hostile and are usually the primary objective of Hunts. MH Rise Garangolm Characteristics & Locations

A monster characterized by its massive and rigid body. Garangolm are generally placid, living in regions with fertile soil. Their sap-like fluids can promote plant growth, forging a symbiotic relationship with flora that grows in their bodies. They can also use that sap to harden plants or the surrounding soil, outfitting their bodies and enhancing their attacks.

Garangolm will reinforce their arms by covering them in elements. When their arms are in this state, continuously attacking the elemental covering will eventually break it off, toppling the beast. Focus your assault on their arms as soon as they're covered!

  • Enraged mode: Garangolm starts to get agitated and starts to look more messy, vapor coming out from its face as if fire side and water side are colliding inside of it. Its moves become more rapid, it will use its head as a weapon more oftenly but that will also give you more chances to perform critical damage.

Quick Combat Tips

  • Garangolm's head is its weakest point, and its arms are the second weakest point.
  • Everytime the Garangolm slams the ground with his arms, you get a chance to hit its head.
  • Hitting the head will also interrupt some of its attacks.
  • Most of its attacks consist on hitting the ground, so aerial attacks will not only keep you safe, but also you will be able to reach its face more often.
  • When Garangolm becomes enraged, it will give you more chances to hit it on the face without having to jump high. It becomes more erratic and exposed.
  • Thunder element attacks on its face are the most effective against them.

MH Rise Garangolm Attacks & Moveset

Boulder Throw - Punches the ground and drags its fist away, which makes a big boulder come out from the ground towards a target.

Triple Boulder Throw - Drags its hand on the ground towards a target throwing 3 boulders at them.

Huge Boulder Throw - Buries both of its hands on the ground and then swings them to the front to throw a bigger boulder at hunters that are in front of the monsters and in the air.

Heavy Slam - Makes a short jump and slams the ground with its fist.

Slap - Slaps the target in front of it.

Head Bump - Puts its head down and swings up, knocking back its targets.

Multiple Slam - Hits the ground several times.

Ignited Slam - Hits the ground causing and explosion that pushes itself up and lands with another slam, repeating the ignition slam a few times.

Charge - Puts it head lower, and runs towards a target to charge at it. While enraged, Garangolm will drag its face on the ground while charging ending the attack with a upwards head bump.

Body Slam - Jumps up and lands on its body with its arms opened to cover more area.

Head Slam - Creating momentum with its arms, Garangolm slams his to the ground attempting to hit an specific target.
