The Wirebug in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR or MHRise) is a new combat mechanic and an insect within the Endemic Life. The Wirebug is the newest combat mechanic that is added to "Rise", it grants the Hunter to traverse the environment in various ways and to unleash unique combat moves.
The debut of the new “Wirebug” mechanic allows for wire-based grappling actions that can be used to scale cliffs and other hard-to-reach areas, providing new traversal and aerial attack options.

- Wiredashing: Perform airborne acrobatics with Wirebugs to move toward a destination or target. Chain these moves together, or lead into a jump attack with
. This will execute a wall run if used while facing a wall.
- Wirebug Gauge: Performaing Wirebug actions consumes the Wirebug Gauge, which recovers over time. Once recovered, the gauge can be used again. The degree of consumption and recovery time varies for each action.
- Stopping Midair: Momentarily stop in midair. Your gauge will not recover during this time. Drop down with
or evade with

- Evading Midair: To execute, press

after a midair Wiredash or midair stop. This move is handy for getting around and dodging attacks.
- Wirefalling: Press

when a monster sends you flying to execute a Wirefall (this consumes some of your Wirebug Gauge), allowing you to quickly recover and evade any oncoming attacks.
- Skilkbind: Each Weapon has a unique Silkbind attack. To execute, hold

Wirebug Actions
NOTE: All actions that utilize the Wirebug consume Wirebug Gauge, but the number of gauges required and the ensuing cooldown time differ per action. It is also important to take note that hunters that are inflicted with Iceblight reduce the recovery rate of the Wirebug Gauge.
- Wiredash: A quick forward dash that even lets you move through the air. It's not just a great way of reaching your objective, but it can be chained into attacks and aerial dodges as well, so it's very helpful during hunts.
- Wallrun: This can be performed by executing a Wiredash towards a wall. You'll keep climbing even the steepest of slopes until your stamina is depleted.
- Sunbreak Update: With the release of the expansion, Wiredashing is no longer required to initiate a Wallrun. Hunters can now simply dash, jump or perform a midair evade towards a wall to run on it. Wallruns can also be initiated from other moves that don't expend the Wirebug Gauge and there is a new option to enable this feature at all times, switch it off, or switch it off while in combat only.
- Wirefall: An evasive move that can be used when you're pushed over or knocked back. It allows you to regain your footing quickly so that you can avoid follow-up attacks from monsters.
- Silkbind Attack: A special attack using the Wirebug. All 14 Weapons have their own unique Silkbind attacks. It can be performed with your weapon drawn, making utmost use of the characteristics of each weapon.
- Wyvern Riding: Wyvern Riding is a new feature that lets you bind monsters so you can control them. If you meet certain conditions, such as dealing enough damage, you can place them into a "mountable state".
Wirebug Silkbind Attacks
Silkbind Attacks in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR or MHRise) are special attacks performed using the Wirebug. Each of the 14 Weapon types have their own unique set of Silkbind Attacks and each Silkbind Attack makes use of the Wirebug gauge to perform a powerful maneuver that can have various special properties such as negating damage or staggers while in motion, or launching the Hunter into the sky to execute a devastating attack from mid-air.
- Hunters can have 2 Silkbind Attacks active while on hunts.
- Silkbind attacks go hand-in-hand with the Switch Skills mechanic, allowing a Hunter to customize their loadout with a combination of different skills for a tailored hunting experience.

Strongarm Stance

A technique that uses Ironsilk to reinforce both your arms and weapon temporarily to fend off attacks.
If used while charging, you can quickly parry an attack and then unleash a fierce onslaught afterwards.
Power Sheathe
Charge for a devastating blow!
A quick forwards maneuver performed as you sheathe your weapon. Boosts your attack power for a short period of time.

Split the heavens with a giant blade!
A forward leaping attack. After landing a hit, you can follow up with a powerful Charged Slash or Charged Plunging Thrust in midair.

Adamant Charged Slash
A technique using a Wirebug to dash forward, and deliver a Strong Charged Slash. Also allows you to withstand knockdown attacks by hardening your body as you dash forth.

Uses a Wirebug to cover your blade with a special ointment whose effects trigger if ignited by friction with your shield.
While active, monsters flinch more easily, creating more openings for attack.
Falling Shadow
Dance through the sky and shatter the earth!
A forward leaping attack. A successful hit will lead to a Scaling Slash. After that, you can follow up with a Falling Bash in midair.

A slicing gale that gives no quarter!
Uses Ironsilk to swing your blade around. Its initial swing nullifies any monster's attack.

Metsu Shoryugeki
A jumping Wirebug attack that uses your shield to uppercut your target. At the beginning of the attack, there is a moment where you can perform a Guard. A well-timed counter can further add to the damage dealt.

Spiral Slash

A Silkbind attack that launches you spiraling forward.
Once your attack connects, your body acts as a drill as your blades bore into your target's flesh. Note: You can perform a Spiral Slash midair.
Shrouded Vault
Dancing blades of vengeance!
Hurls you forward in a designated direction. Getting hit while in motion triggers a spinning attack.

Piercing Bind
Death by a strand of silk!
Pierces a target with a kunai that detonates after a certain amount of time. Landing further hits where the kunai is lodged racks up extra damage that scales with each hit.

Tower Vault
Launches a Wirebug upwards and you with it. This action does not do any damage, but allows you to move through the air in most cases, even with your weapon drawn.

A move that casts out an Ironsilk ring that narrows your range of attack, but boosts spirit so you can go on the offensive.
Within the ring, your Spirit Gauge won't deplete, and if you perform any counterattacks, it will add additional hits.

The calm before the storm!
Taking a hit while your weapon is at the ready will swiftly lead to a counterattack.

Soaring Kick
What goes up must come down!
Uses a Wirebug to launch you into a jump kick that, if connects, will trigger a Plunging Thrust. Landing the Thrust auto-fills your Spirit Gauge for a short period of time. Press the corresponding button after landing the kick to perform a Spirit Helm Breaker at a cost of one level of Spirit Gauge.

A whirlwind-like attack, dashing and slicing past the target with a Wirebug.
The hit causes multiple lacerations over time, inducing additional damage.

Jump straight up and dish out a devastating rising attack that also hits multiple times on the way down.

Unleashes a spinning attack that deals multiple hits while leaping forward. You can perform this attack from a charged state, or hold down the charge button when the move starts to charge it up and let rip anytime you want by releasing the button.

An attack performed by rushing forward with the help of a Wirebug. Any enemy attack damage is negated while launching forward.

A Silkbind attack that wraps your weapon in Ironsilk.
For a short period of time, any attack performed causes the silk to vibrate, creating a time-delayed shockwave that triggers additional hits. These additional hits do major stun, exhaust, and part damage.

Strings playing a dirge of the soul!
Uses a Wirebug to propel you forward into a spinning attack. The final performance grants a status boost, and you'll be invulnerable to knockback effects while moving forward.

Earthshaker
A head-poinding beat!
An attack that drives an Ironsilk-bound blade into the target like a stake. The vibrations of the weapon's sonic blast explode inside the target.

Places a Wirebug cocoon on the ground. If the same hunter generates melody effects, the effect also appears around the cocoon, as does as a Sonic Wave that damages monsters near it.

A technique where a Wirebug launches you high into the air.
Thrust your lance towards the heavens and then pierce the earth. The falling portion of the attack inflicts multiple hits.
Twin Vine
Bonds that tie!
Jabs a kunai into the target to get its attention. Pressing the corresponding buttons while the kunai is still lodged into the target will launch you towards it while guarding.

Let the anger flow!
Attacks absorbed while your shield is up, temporarily boosts your attack power. The strength of the boost depends on the power of the attack absorbed.

Spiral Thrust
A lightning-fast, two-step maneuver to reposition and counterattack. This attack uses your shield to parry, then uses a Wirebug to send you thrusting forward. Use it to confuse your target and unleash a wave of strikes.

Uses a Wirebug to Blast Dash toward your target, unleashing everything with abandon.

A well-timed guard regenerates your weapon's sharpness. Can be followed up with various attacks.

Perform a Rising Slash and then an Overhead Smash. Each usage reduces the cooldown time for Wyvern's Fire.

Compresses Switch Gauge energy, that can be released as an Elemental Burst.

Let the silk breathe life into your sword!
Uses a Wirebug to launch you forward while quickly regenerating your Switch Gauge. In addition, the Switch Gauge won't decrease for a short period of time.

A forward-moving spinning attack. Fortifies the user, making them immune to flinching or being knocked back by even the fiercest of attacks.

Soaring Wyvern Blade
Uses a Wirebug to fly up while slashing, ending with a Forward Slash from midair. If the Forward Slash is successful, the weapon's Activation Gauge fills up, a large explosion goes off where it connected.

A Silkbind maneuver that binds sword and axe together with Ironsilk.

Unleash the moving force of a heavy axe!
Uses a Wirebug to launch you forward while your charge blade switches to axe form. While in motion, monster attacks won't knock you back or stun you. Can be chained into a variety of attacks after moving.

Ready your shield while stretching silk to the ground. Being hit while your shield is readied will fill your phials to the maximum.

Slam the axe overhead, using recoil and Ironsilk to propel you up into the air. While going upwards, you can unleash a powerful Element Discharge.

A technique where you hurl a Kinsect to inflict massive damage. All extracts are consumed and the more extracts you have, the more potent this attack will be.
After launching the Kinsect, you'll close in using a Wirebug; simultaneously absorbing extract, marking the target, and then chaining into a Vaulting Dance..
Silkbind Vault
Fly freely through the sky!
A leaping attack that spins forwards. Follow up with a Jumping Slash, a Jumping Advancing Slash, or even a Midair Evade.

The silk heals all!
Calls back your Kinsect while dodging. As it returns, it will perform spinning attacks that scatter healing extracts. Its stamina will fully recover once it gets back to its master.

A devastating dive attack that uses a Wirebug to pull you downward with great force. The attack has a small damage radius, but that means the damage is highly focused.

Fires an arrow loaded with Ironsilk. If the follow-up arrow lands in the same spot as the first, Ironsilk winds around both arrows, inflicting severing damage.

Use Ironsilk to strengthen your draw!
Surge forward in a designated direction. Your attack is also empowered for a short time.

Energy through harmony with nature!
Dodge while crouching. While crouching, your stamina rapidly regenerates. If timed right, you can nullify a monster attack while evading. You can also use the Left Stick to change the direction in which you evade.

An action for firing arrows by jumping straight up with a Wirebug. Particularly damaging shots can be fired from midair. A close-range attack using an arrow can also be aimed directly underneath you.

An urgent retreat that fires a shot with massive recoil, using a Wirebug to stop.
While not a powerful attack, its true value comes when it's used to evade incoming attacks. If timed right, you'll retreat with an explosive exit that can even neutralize breath attacks.
Silkbind Glide
Let your shots flow like water!
Surge forward at a lightning-fast speed. Pressing the corresponding button while moving unleashes a powerful close-range severing attack.

Rain down shots from above!
Uses a Wirebug to vault yourself forward. Press the corresponding button to fire, to reload, or to fire a Wyvernblast directly below you, which will stick to the monster's hide.

A Silkbind technique in which a Wirebug generates a ring of Ironsilk.
Special powder accumulates within the ring, and when ammo passes through it, the velocity of the ammo is decreased. Firing piercing ammo/multi-hit ammo through the ring will boost the total number of hits upon impact.
