Monster Hunter Rise Beta & Demo

The Monster Hunter Rise (MHR or MHRise) Demo features only specific quests, the main plot of the game has been laid out during several developer discussions and is available on the official Monster Hunter website. You will be based in Kamura Village, which unlike the new world features a very Japanese vibe. At Kamura Village, you will meet several unique characters that assist in your adventure, with the expected village chief, quest maiden, a blacksmith, and a Tea Shop. Kamura Village is a town that stands its ground in the face of an unexplained regular event: The Rampage.

kamura-village-location-monster-hunter-world-wiki-guide-mhr

“The Rampage is a catastrophic event where countless monsters attack the village all at once. People have lived in fear of it since ancient times, but nobody knows why it occurs. Kamura has fallen victim to this phenomenon numerous times as well, and especially the Rampage that happened 50 years ago came close to wiping out the entire village. The villagers are training day in day out to prevent this tragedy from reoccurring, and they have built a sturdy Stronghold to prepare for the next invasion.”

Wirebug Actions

NOTE: All actions that utilize the Wirebug consume Wirebug Gauge, but the number of gauges required and the ensuing cooldown time differ per action. It is also important to take note that hunters that are inflicted with Iceblight reduce the recovery rate of the Wirebug Gauge.

  • Wiredash: A quick forward dash that even lets you move through the air. It's not just a great way of reaching your objective, but it can be chained into attacks and aerial dodges as well, so it's very helpful during hunts.
  • Wallrun: This can be performed by executing a Wiredash towards a wall. You'll keep climbing even the steepest of slopes until your stamina is depleted.
    • Sunbreak Update: With the release of the expansion, Wiredashing is no longer required to initiate a Wallrun. Hunters can now simply dash, jump or perform a midair evade towards a wall to run on it. Wallruns can also be initiated from other moves that don't expend the Wirebug Gauge and there is a new option to enable this feature at all times, switch it off, or switch it off while in combat only.
  • Wirefall: An evasive move that can be used when you're pushed over or knocked back. It allows you to regain your footing quickly so that you can avoid follow-up attacks from monsters.
  • Silkbind Attack: A special attack using the Wirebug. All 14 Weapons have their own unique Silkbind attacks. It can be performed with your weapon drawn, making utmost use of the characteristics of each weapon.
  • Wyvern Riding: Wyvern Riding is a new feature that lets you bind monsters so you can control them. If you meet certain conditions, such as dealing enough damage, you can place them into a "mountable state".

Wirebug Silkbind Attacks

Silkbind Attacks in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR or MHRise) are special attacks performed using the Wirebug. Each of the 14 Weapon types have their own unique set of Silkbind Attacks and each Silkbind Attack makes use of the Wirebug gauge to perform a powerful maneuver that can have various special properties such as negating damage or staggers while in motion, or launching the Hunter into the sky to execute a devastating attack from mid-air.

  • Hunters can have 2 Silkbind Attacks active while on hunts.
  • Silkbind attacks go hand-in-hand with the Switch Skills mechanic, allowing a Hunter to customize their loadout with a combination of different skills for a tailored hunting experience.

Wyvern Riding

Wyvern Riding

wyvern-riding-combat-mechanic-mhr-wiki-guide
Type Combat Mechanic

Wyvern Riding in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR or MHRise) is a new combat mechanic. Wyvern Riding utilizes the Wirebug, allowing the hunter to ride a Monster that is in a "mountable state". Once you are bound to a monster, you can control it and wreak havoc!

How to Mount a Monster

  • Get monsters into a "mountable state" by attacking them enough with Wirebug attacks, letting them fight each other, or using certain Endemic Life. Approach a monster in this state and land a blow, or sheathe your weapon and press the corresponding button to start Wyvern Riding. Press a-button-switch-mhr-wiki-guide when you approach the monster to ride it.
  • Alternatively, players can also use a Puppet Spider which does the same thing.

  • x-button-switch-mhr-wiki-guide: Light Attack
  • a-button-switch-mhr-wiki-guide: Strong Attack
  • left-stick-switch-mhr-wiki-guide+r-button-switch-mhr-wiki-guide: Move
  • b-button-switch-mhr-wiki-guide: Evade
  • y-button-switch-mhr-wiki-guide: Launch Monster
  • x-button-switch-mhr-wiki-guide+a-button-switch-mhr-wiki-guide: Mounted Punisher
  • Wyvern Riding Gauge: The Wyvern Riding Gauge can be filled by damaging monsters or shrugging off an attack by evading just before it hits.
  • Wyvern Riding Timer: Shows how long you can keep riding. Time is recouped when you land attacks, and heavily lost when you are hit.
  • Attack Linking and Combos: Certain button sequences and repetitions execute transitions or combos when Wyvern Riding. These can also be triggered with the left-stick-switch-mhr-wiki-guide.

Wyvern Riding Actions

If you manage to control the monster properly, you'll be able to perform special attacks and dodges. You have two types of regular attacks at your disposal: a quick weak attack, or a strong attack that does a lot of damage but moves more slowly. Some of these attacks will change depending on specific combinations. Try riding as many different monsters as you can!

  • Moving: You can control monsters' movement freely while riding them. You can also transition to attacking or evading at any time.
  • Emergency Evading: While attacking or being hit, you can evade more quickly than usual by pressing b-button-switch-mhr-wiki-guide, at the cost of your Wirebug Gauge.
  • Shrugging off Attacks: Dodging or Emergency Evading just as you are about to be hit will stun your foe and also fill your Wyern Riding Gauge.
  • Launching Monsters: Press y-button-switch-mhr-wiki-guide while Wyvern Riding to dismount and send the monster flying forward. You'll topple the monster if it collides with a wall or another monster. If your press b-button-switch-mhr-wiki-guide just as the monster hits the wall, you can use a Wirebug to hop back onto it, launch it again, and sent it crashing into the wall once more.
  • Mounted Punishers: Can be used once your Wyvern Riding Gauge is full. This will deal a huge blow to a monster, so make sure not to miss. You only have a limited time to use it though, and if you miss the attack window, you will automatically dismount.
  • Landing the Mounted Punisher: While Mounted Punisher is available, you can use x-button-switch-mhr-wiki-guide and a-button-switch-mhr-wiki-guide attacks to down the monster, making it easier to land the cop de grace.

Wyvern Riding Trivia

  • While Wyvern Riding, you may be able to get hit by other monster's attacks, and you might faint while riding, cancelling the Wyvern Riding.

MH Rise Endemic Life

In Monster Hunter Rise, it seems that players will most likely look for the various species living in various locales. Endemic Life in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR or MHRise) play an integral role in a hunter's quest since capturing these critters and using them just like an item when you're out in the field provides tactical support, apart from that, some species roam around and when interacted with, provide various buffs and effects that lasts until the hunting quest is complete.

Endemic Life in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR or MHRise) are creatures that live in different areas, when they are found, they grant a variety of boons to hunters. These creatures can be captured by hunters and they come in a variety of sizes and species. This page covers a list of all the Endemic Life in Monster Hunter Rise.

In Monster Hunter Rise, some Endemic Life species work hand-in-hand with certain equipment, such as the Spiribird. The pollen that is released by the Spiribird attaches to a piece of new equipment called The Petalace, this envelops the hunter in a sweet, energizing fragrance that grants a permanent status boost until the end of the quest.

New Sunbreak Expansion Endemic Life

NEW! Included with the added updates and all new features, are a set of new Endemic Life creatures. The following are the new creatures found with the Sunbreak Expansion:

Others grant temporary boons that can be applied to a single hunter or a team, while others work as environmental hazards that can cause damage to both hunters and monsters.

Endemic Life Location

Once you have started a hunt, just open up your map, and press l button switch mhr wiki guide and r button switch mhr wiki guide to swap between the filters such as the permabuffers, known as the Spiribirds or just any other Endemic Life of its many forms.

Rare Endemic Life

Rare endemic life, also known as Rare Creatures, refers to Endemic Life that is way harder to find than their "normal" counterparts. To find them, hunters need to be in certain places during specific times of the day. These Rare Endemic Life creatures, like to dwell or hide in remote places or areas that don't have an easy access. Hunters need to look for locations that are often overlooked to find them.

These Rare Endemic Life specimens will not appear in your Hunter's Notes unless you take a photo of them when spotted.  So have your camera ready to take a nice picture as soon as you find any of them! They also react to certain commands! Try using the Greeting in the Action Bar in front of them to see their reactions!

There are 5 Rare Endemic Life specimens in the base game of Monster Hunter Rise (MHR or MHRise), and 2 more were added with the release of the Sunbreak Expansion DLC. Each one of them, can only be found in one of the 7 different Locales available in the game.

The following 7 creatures are all the Rare Endemic Life available in the game:

Monster Hunter Rise Endemic Life

The Hunter's Notes classifies Endemic Life into 7 categories based on how the hunter interacts with them:

  • Permabuffers are Endemic Life that provide hunters with a permanent buff that lasts until the end of a hunt.
  • Temp Buffers are Endemic Life that provide hunters with a temporary buff such as increased attack or decreased stamina consumption that only lasts a certain amount of time.
  • Hunting Helpers are special Endemic Life that hunters can carry around in their Helper Cage and deploy for various special effects that may aid them in battle.
  • Ensnaring Life are Endemic Life that can be triggered by the hunter in order to damage or trap a monster that happens to be nearby.
  • Crafty Creatures are Endemic Life that give the hunter materials that can be used for crafting.
  • Rare Creatures are Endemic Life life that are unique to each zone, and are rarely ever seen. A photograph has to be taken of them to unlock the information in the Hunter's Notes.
  • Other Endemic Life are Endemic Life that don't fit into any of the previous categories, putting them in a category all their own.
