Waterblight is a Status Effect in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR or MHRise). Status Effects are various buffs, effects, and ailments that can be afflicted on both hunters and monsters. Both Hunters and Monsters can receive Effects from Skills, the environment, and attacks.

Waterblight Effects
Effect on Hunters
If a hunter is inflicted with Waterblight, their stamina recovery rate will become greatly reduced, making it more difficult to perform actions that require stamina.
Effect on Monsters
A monster's hide will become softer when it is afflicted with Waterblight. This effect becomes more pronounced the harder the body part is, making it a prime opportunity to go after sections that are otherwise difficult to damage.
Waterblight Cures/Prevention
How to Cure Waterblight
Waterblight can be cured by consuming a Nulberry. Alternatively, hunters can repeatedly evade (
+
) in order to reduce the remaining duration of the effect. It is also possible to simply wait until the duration of the effect runs out on its own. Interestingly, Waterblight can also be cured by Wiredashing repeatedly, and is the only Elemental Blight that can be cured this way.
How to Prevent Waterblight
Like other Elemental Blights, the effects caused by Waterblight can be mitigated and even completely negated if the hunter possesses enough of the corresponding Elemental Resistance, which in this case would be Water Resistance.
A Water Resistance of at least 20 is required to prevent Waterblight.
A Water Resistance of less than 20 will mitigate the effects of Waterblight, however will not prevent it.
Waterblight can also be prevented by having Lv. 3 of the Blight Resistance armor skill.
