Decorations in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR or MHRise) can be placed into Weapons and Armor to gain or enhance Skills. Players can find special icons denoting the slot level available for each equipment piece. For Master Rank Weapons, players can look for the Rampage Decorations that were introduced during the Sunbreak Expansion which are equipped specifically to Master Rank Weapons in order to gain or boost Skills.
To unlock decorations the player must progress through the game to reach High Rank. This can be done by unlocking 4* Hub Quests as well as Gathering Hub Key Quests, or via special "urgent" quests called "Special License Tests" through Village Quests.
Decorations are divided into 4 levels: Level 1 , Level 2
, Level 3
and Level 4
. Decoration Slot Level has no impact on your skill level, they are only meant to limit what type of decorations/skills you can use in a weapon/armor slot.
Higher level decorations slots allow you to use lower level decorations. For example, you can slot a level 1 or level 2 Decoration in a Level 2 Decoration Slot. Note that this doesn't work the other way around. For example, you can't slot a level 2 Decoration into a level 1 Decoration Slot.
How do I obtain Decorations?
All Decorations in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR or MHRise) can be crafted by the hunters. This allow players to be able to create the Decorations that better fit their Build, because the crafting system is specific and does not involve any type of randomness.
The only leveling factor to know how much they will affect your build is the number of Decorations Slots and level of the Decoration slots your set has.
You unlock Decorations as you defeat each Monster in the High Rank for the first time. But that is not all, once you unlock a Decoration you need to actually craft it to be able to slot it in your Armor. To be crafted decorations require certain amount of Materials and a specific amount of Zenny (money).
Where do I craft Decorations?
Decorations are crafted at the Smithy. Select the "Create Decorations" option to head to the next menu. Here you will find all the unlocked Decorations, and you can decide to search by the actual Decorations names or by the Skills they provide. This may be useful if you are set on searching for a Skill that you already possess.
By pressing , while at this menu, playing can access a search engine that allows to look up for Decorations using different filters, such as Rarity or Decoration Level.

Decorations are unlocked as soon as you unlock High Rank through Hub quests (4 stars). Some of them will be missing at first. To unlock them, you usually need to do all the "main" quests (The little red dragon next to the quests) for monsters that are needed for the craft.
Exemple: Evade Extender requires Tobi Kadachi and Zinogre. So you need to complete Kadachi's & Zinogre's high rank "main" quests
