Increases attack power and defense when health drops to 35% or lower. |
Heroics is a Skill in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR or MHRise). Heroics increases attack power and defense when health drops to 35% or lower. and has 5 levels. Skills are granted to Hunters by their equipped Weapons, Armor, Talismans and Decorations and play an integral role in a Hunter's progression.
Heroics Effect
Heroics is increased in level based on the amount of Equipment with this skill the hunter is using. Each level works as follows:
Level 1: While active, increases defense by 50 points.
Level 2: Attack +5% and defense +50 while active.
Level 3: Attack +5% and defense +100 while active.
Level 4: Attack +10% and defense +100 while active.
Level 5: While active, attack power +30% and defense-increasing effects are negated.
Heroics has 5 levels, after which, additional levels won't provide any further benefit.

I find it pretty awkward that you HAVE to go gather health spiritbirds to raise your heroics threshold up to a more survivable level, rather than being able to put health boost on. But there's not really much to do other than go do that, is there lol. Kind of even enforces heroics being one-shot health with the defense removed as well.
Curious to see what others think about this, as heroics is probably the only skill DIRECTLY affected/nerfed by spiritbirds being added and replacing health boost. While also buffing its main purpose of dealing drastically more damage.
I gotta admit, I didn't realise it had been so drastically changed from World/IB. Losing all Defense buffs, including from the skill, is an interesting choice. It explains why I didn't feel as tanky with it as I thought I might. Still think the skill is really good though, 35% is certainly dangerously low, but certainly not difficult to manage.
