Critical Element is a Skill in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR or MHRise). Critical Element increases elemental damage (fire, water, thunder, ice, dragon) when landing critical hits. and has 3 levels. Skills are granted to Hunters by their equipped Weapons, Armor, Talismans and Decorations and play an integral role in a Hunter's progression.
Critical Element Effect
Critical Element is increased in level based on the amount of Equipment with this skill the hunter is using. Each level works as follows:
- Level 1: Grants elemental damage +5% while active
- Level 2: Grants elemental damage +10% while active
- Level 3: Grants elemental damage +15% while active
Critical Element has 3 levels, after which, additional levels won't provide any further benefit.

Does Critical Element work with Blastblight in MHR?
- Critical Element does not affect Blastblight as it only affects elemental damage i.e. Fire, Water, Thunder, Ice, and Dragon damage. In Monster Hunter World, there was a skill called Critical Status that had the same effect as Critical Element but affected status effects such as Blastblight. Unfortunately, this skill hasn't been introduced in Monster Hunter Rise and it is unknown whether it will be in the future.
