Bladescale Hone is a Skill in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR). Bladescale Hone is a new skill debuting in the Sunbreak Expansion. Bladescale Hone will, upon rolling to evade an attack while the weapon is drawn, recover sharpness on the user's weapon, refill bowgun ammo, and give close-range coatings a temporary boost. This skill has 3 Levels. Skills are granted to Hunters by their equipped Weapons, Armor, Talismans and Decorations and play an integral role in a Hunter's progression.
Bladescale Hone Effect
Bladescale Hone is increased in level based on the amount of Equipment with this skill the hunter is using. Each level works as follows:
Level 1: Activates 50% of the time.
Level 2: Activates 75% of the time.
Level 3: Activates 100% of the time.
Bladescale Hone has 3 Levels, after which, additional levels won't provide any further benefit.
Equipment that grants Bladescale Hone
You can unlock Bladescale Hone by equipping the following items.
- Bladescale Jewel 2 (Bladescale Hone Lv. 1)
- Bladescale Jewel+ 4 (Bladescale Hone Lv. 2)

I'm assuming this means you have to actually I-frame through an attack for it to activate? The description leaves little question, but actually doing that would make this pretty terrible, since MH has such tiny I-frames.

It probably depends on if you’re in a fight and the monster just attacked
