Perform a perfectly-timed Switch Skill Swap just as a monster attacks to reduce the damage and negate damage reactions |
Redirection is a Skill in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR). Redirection is a new skill debuting in the Sunbreak Expansion. Redirection performs a perfectly-timed Switch Skill swap to reduce a monster's attack damage and negate damage reactions. This skill has 2 Levels. Skills are granted to Hunters by their equipped Weapons, Armor, Talismans and Decorations and play an integral role in a Hunter's progression.
Redirection Effect
Redirection is increased in level based on the amount of Equipment with this skill the hunter is using. Each level works as follows:
Level 1: Activate effect.
Level 2: Nullifies incoming damage, and automatically performs a Swap Evade backwards which recovers Wirebug Gauge.
Redirection has 2 Levels, after which, additional levels won't provide any further benefit.
Equipment that grants Redirection
You can unlock Redirection by equipping the following items.
Notes & Trivia
- The Level 2 auto-evade will not trigger the effects of Bladescale Hone, Ironshine Silk, Status Trigger and Adrenaline Rush.

Extremely underrated skill.
Level 2 of this let's you dodge anything with ease while also restoring your wirebugs. The best past is that it costs pretty much nothing to use and it can be used very quickly after most of your attacks.

This is functionally just a weapon-independent dodge with better i-frames, which is very bizarre.
