Latent Power

Temporarily increases affinity and reduces stamina depletion when certain conditions are met

Latent Power is a Skill in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR or MHRise). Latent Power increases affinity and reduces stamina depletion and has 5 levels. Skills are granted to Hunters by their equipped Weapons, Armor, Talismans and Decorations and play an integral role in a Hunter's progression.

Latent Power Effect

Latent Power is increased in level based on the amount of Equipment with this skill the hunter is using. Each level works as follows:

  • Level 1: While active, increases affinity by 10% and reduces stamina depletion by 30%
  • Level 2: While active, increases affinity by 20% and reduces stamina depletion by 30%
  • Level 3: While active, increases affinity by 30% and reduces stamina depletion by 50%
  • Level 4: While active, increases affinity by 40% and reduces stamina depletion by 50%
  • Level 5: While active, increases affinity by 50% and reduces stamina depletion by 50%

Latent Power has 5 levels, after which, additional levels won't provide any further benefit.

This skill effect activates after 2 minutes and 45 seconds of an encounter with a monster. Unlike in previous Monster Hunter games, you cannot increase this counter by taking damage. Any time spent in an attack animation will speed up this process by 2x, meaning if you were to only attack for about 1 minute and 45 seconds, you would obtain the effect. The only exceptions in version 1.1.2 is that bowguns as well as dual blades demon mode are excluded from this attack animation speed up.

The skill effect lasts for exactly 2 minutes after you have received it.

Equipment that grants Latent Power

You can unlock Latent Power by equipping the following items.

does the effect apply only for the firt encounter or every time that the monster moves around the maps it can reset ?

      • 250 Stamina Demon Mode Test
Without Marathon = 1:00 Demon Mode Duration
With Marathon Maxed = 2:00 Demon Mode Duration
With Marathon Maxed AND Latent Power Maxed (Active) = 3:00 Demon Mode Duration
During the 3 minute test, Latent Power obviously ran out once two minutes passed (as intended) but with the extra 1 minute after, this means that there's only a 1:45 window(further reduced if you actually are attacking, my test stood still) before LP comes back online LOL
So uh...I think it's safe to say that on a real hunt, you would be permanently in demon mode haha

        • Can confirm that with testing in the training area-- Dual Blades can proc this with demon mode In 1:30-1:40 seconds while beating on the dummy.
It might've been bugged before but as of 3.0 it's fine now.
For clarification, I'm using the Felyne Tree's "Raging Claws" with the Hellion Mode ramp-up skill and Feral Modeswitch skill.
Tested it also with normal dual blades with normal demon mode, both works

I wish i had some accurate way to time myself to see if SB's CSS held attacks have any effect on the time-reduction because they've got probably the longest spammable animation chains IMO.

it activates after 2:45 in combat at the latest BUT while you are attacking the 'time' speeds up so in practice it takes about 2 minutes. It is bugged (?) for dual blades and bowguns and you cannot speed up the timer. It lasts 2 minutes, then the 2:45 thing starts again.

Unlike in World, taking damage does not trigger it.
