MH Rise Primordial Malzeno Characteristics & Locations

Malzeno's original form before it was tainted by the Qurio. Ordinarily, it uses its wings and tail with the elegance of a knight, but under the Qurio's influence, it uses underhanded means of cornering its prey, and in its "Bloodlust" state it wields tremendous power. Because of the explosive energy corrupting its body, it sometimes shows behavior as if it's struggling against an overwhelming force.

Once overwhelmed by the Qurio, it transitions into its "Bloodening" state, which culminates in "Bloodrage" as it is corrupted. Dealing damage is the only way to mitigate this state. MH Rise Primordial Malzeno Attacks & Moveset

Tail Stab - Primoridal Malzeno performs a frontflip, landing on its tail pointing it at a target, then stabs at them.

Dash Stab Combo - Primordial Malzeno dashes forward, swinging it's wing at the end of the dash, then does a stabbing motion forward with it's tail. If you get hit by its wing, you will get knocked down, making you very vulnerable to the tail stab. Wirebug away from Primoridal Malzeno if you get hit by its wing to avoid getting hit by the tail. This move deals massive amounts of damage and can cart you in one move if you get hit by both the wing and tail attack.

Ground Slider - Primordial Malzeno puts its wing on the ground and swipes in front of itself, kicking up rocks and hitting targets in a wide arc in front if it with a violent wave. It will follow up the attack with a second wing swipe from the same wing. Be careful of getting caught by the first wave, as it may guarantee that you will get caught by the second one too.

Backwards Stab - Primordial Malzeno glances behind choosing a target, then stabs at them with its tail and without turning its body.

Retreating Swipe - Primordial Malzeno readies its wing, then swipes at a target in front of it while moving backwards. It can target a hunter behind it with this move very quickly.

Advancing Swipe - Primordial Malzeno stabs a hunter in front of it with its wing, then swipes its wing in a large arc in front of it while moving forwards. Can perform this move twice in a row with the other wing while enraged.

Slider Bite - Primordial Malzeno slides in forward motion with its head near the ground attempting to bite a target.

Aerial Dive - Primordial Malzeno flies up momentarily, then dives towards a target, slamming into them.

Backflip Charge - Primordial Malzeno performs a backflip, then dashes in front of it with it's wings crossed, hitting hunters at the end of the dash when opening its wings.

Twin Orbs - Primordial Malzeno flies up and throws two large orbs at a target. Only performed while enraged.

Qurio Beam - Primordial Malzeno covers itself with its wings while charging up. Three lines of pink/red light appear in front of it while charging up. After a brief moment, it shoots out powerful beams made from the Qurio where the glowing lights were. Position yourself between the three glowing beams to avoid getting hit. Only performed while enraged.

Blood Flame - Primordial Malzeno readies itself with its wings on the ground in front of it. After a brief moment, it opens up its wings, releasing three waves of flame outwards from it. It can target a hunter behind it with this move very quickly. Only performed while enraged.

Ground Rupture (Cone) - Primordial Malzeno fires a beam into the ground, rupturing the ground in front of it. The ground breaks in a cone formation outwards from the monster. Only performed while enraged.

Ground Rupture (Circular) - Primordial Malzeno flies up, and the Qurio form a circle around it. After a brief moment, it slams back down, rupturing the ground in a circular motion. Only performed while enraged. Be careful of being too close to the circle even if you are outside of the area; you may still get hit by the move if you're too close.
