Qurious Weapon Crafting for Monster Hunter Rise (MHR or MHRise) is a feature of the game that revolves around improving your Weapons beyond their normal capabilities by Augmenting them. Weapons need to be unlocked first in order to be Augmented. To do so, Hunters need to spend Afflicted Materials and money. It is important to note that Hunters cannot rollback Augmented Weapons.
These are fixed upgrades, meaning that all Weapons that go through this process, may receive the same upgrades.
When a Weapon is upgraded, the following icon is displayed in the top left corner of the Weapon's image.

Enable Augmentations
To be able to unlock Anomaly Slots, Hunters first need to enable Augmentations. To do so, they need to spend a certain number of Afflicted Materials. Each Afflicted material has a different value, some may be worth more and others less.
Hunters need to deliver 10 afflicted materials in value in order to unlock the Augmentation.
Anomaly Slots
When a Weapon is unlocked for Augmentations, 3 Anomaly Slots are automatically ready to use. There are also 5 more Anomaly Slots, but are currently locked and will be displayed like this
Nevertheless, Hunters can unlock those 5 slots, totaling 8 Anomaly Slots per weapon.
Note that Hunters won't be able to add any more slots after all eight have been unlocked.
