Advanced Armor Sphere is a guaranteed reward for completing certain Optional Subquests offered by Hinoa and Minoto. The number of Advanced Armor Spheres earned varies between subquests.

It should also be noted that the rewards for completing Optional Subquests change as the player progresses through the game. As a result, Advanced Armor Sphere is only offered as an Optional Subquest reward during a certain part of the game, and is later replaced by better rewards.
