Tripping is a Status Effect in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR or MHRise). Status Effects are various buffs, effects, and ailments that can be afflicted on both hunters and monsters. Both Hunters and Monsters can receive Effects from Skills, the environment, and attacks.

Effect on Hunters

Hunters that are hit by an attack capable of Tripping will either fall onto their hands and knees or onto their butt depending on whether the hunter was hit from in front or from behind.

Effect on Monsters

Tripping does not affect monsters.

Tripping cannot be cured.

How to Prevent Tripping

Tripping can be mitigated by having at least Lv. 2 of the Flinch Free armor skill.

Tripping can be prevented by having at least Lv. 3 of the Flinch Free armor skill.

Armor Skill Skill Description Level Effects
Flinch Free Prevents knockbacks and other reactions to small damage. Lv. 2 Prevents knockbacks. Tripping is reduced to a knocback instead.
Lv. 3 Prevents knockbacks and tripping.

Dango Skill Dango Effects
Dango Feet Centering Reduces tripping to a knockback instead.
