Kagero the Merchant is an NPC in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR or MHRise). NPCs are non-playable characters that interact with the Hunter during the story or optional activities in game.

Though the Rampage nears its end, such is never the case for a hunter's need of items. As always, I often vary my inventory with wares you'll certainly find useful, so do take a look at them when it so pleases you...

  • In-game Description:
    • "A male Wyverian who runs a market in Kamura. Despite being a well-traveled salesman, he's taken a liking to Kamura, and treats it as his home base. Nobody knows what he actually looks like, as he keeps his face hidden behind a veil. His past is shrouded in mystery, and he seems content with that."
  • If you need any items to help you on your hunts, pay a visit to the mysterious merchant Kagero.
  • Sometimes Kagero will hold a sale, slicing his prices in half (some items exempted), and he runs a lottery as well.
  • The lottery grants you prizes depending on how lucky you are. You can play the lottery once per sale, or a maximum of three times per day if you use amiibo (you can only use the lottery once per day per amiibo). If you happen to have any Lottery Tickets, you may also redeem them for an additional chance to play the lottery.

Role in Main Story

  • A mysterious peddler who likes to cover his face with a piece of cloth. He has a peaceful personality and is always polite to his customers, making him a popular figure around the village. He does his own part in protecting Kamura from the Rampage by providing the village with goods from his small caravan. If you're ever looking to stock up on useful items, Kagero surely has what you're looking for.

  • Kagero the Merchant can be found in Kamura Village, next to his Market which is set up on a small, Popo-driven wagon.

  • Hunters can buy a variety of useful items from Kagero to help them on their hunts. Kagero also runs a Lottery that players can participate in for a chance at winning high-quality items as well as small trinkets/decorations for their room.
  • Players can also turn in Relic Records to Kagero to unlock new excerpts in their Notebook that reveal some of the history behind Kamura and the surrounding land.
