Flashfruit is a Material in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR or MHRise). Materials such as Flashfruit are special Items that are obtained from looting the environment, completing Quests and objectives, and by carving specific Monsters. Materials are usually harvested off a Monster after completing a hunt and these are primarily used for Crafting and upgrading a hunter's equipment.
Fruit that pops with a bright flash if shaken. Too dangerous to keep after a quest.
How to get Flashfruit
This material can be obtained from the following sources:
Monsters that drop Flashfruit
Master Rank Drops
- Dropped x1 (100%)
Low Rank Drops
Dropped Materials (Flinch while standing on its tail)
- 100% (x1)
High Rank Drops
Dropped Materials (Flinch while standing on its tail)
- 100% (x1)
NOTE: The above drop rate of 100% does NOT mean you will get this item 100% of the time from the source. See notes below.
Flashfruit Usage
This item can be used as a Consumable Item by hunters out in the field in order to aid them in their hunt:
Item Type | Effects | Duration |
Traps/Offense | Using a Flashfruit will cause the hunter to throw a projectile in the direction they are facing that produces a bright flash capable of stunning nearby monsters. |
Varies depending on how much tolerance the target has built up |
Flashfruit Mechanics
The following gameplay mechanics apply to this Item:
The 100% drop rate for this item is misleading. Hunters do NOT actually have a 100% chance of acquiring this item via the source listed on this page. The source of this item is actually split into 4 loot pools for Low Rank, and 5 loot pools for High Rank. One of these loot pools is guaranteed to give you this item 100% of the time, however the other loot pools have a 0% chance of giving you this item. This means that for Low Rank, you only have a 25% chance of acquiring this item from its source, because there is a 75% chance you will get the wrong loot pool. For High Rank, you only have a 20% chance of acquiring this item from its source, because there is an 80% chance you will get the wrong loot pool.
Upon finishing the current quest or expedition, any remaining Flashfruit in the hunter's inventory will be removed, similar to Supply Items.
After throwing a Flashfruit, it will travel a set distance before detonating in a blinding flash of light. If the Flashfruit makes contact with a monster or nearby terrain before it reaches its maximum distance, it will explode prematurely, resulting in the same effects described above.
In order to successfully Blind a monster with a Flashfruit, the monster must be facing towards the flash. Otherwise, the Flashfruit will have no effect on the monster.
It should be noted that repeated use of this item can cause monsters to become more tolerant of its effects, reducing its overall efficacy. For more information, please see the Blind page.
