Defense Down is a Status Effect in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR or MHRise). Status Effects are various buffs, effects, and ailments that can be afflicted on both hunters and monsters. Both Hunters and Monsters can receive Effects from Skills, the environment, and attacks.

Defense Down Effects
Effect on Hunters
Hunters that are inflicted with Defense Down temporarily have their defense decreased, causing any incoming attacks to deal more damage.
Effect on Monsters
Defense Down cannot be inflicted on Monsters.
Defense Down Cures/Prevention
How to Cure Defense Down
Defense Down can be negated by consuming an Adamant Seed or Armorskin. Alternatively, players can just wait for the effect to wear off.
How to Prevent Defense Down
Anything that prevents the hunter from becoming afflicted with Defense Down should go here (Armor Skills, Armor Sets, Endemic Life, Meal Buffs, etc.)
