Monster Hunter Rise Game Progress Route

Progression in Monster Hunter Rise is largely tied to completing Key Quests denoted by the key quests mhrise wiki guide 50px symbol. Quests are divided by ⭐ Rank, denoting their difficulty, and completing a certain number of Key Quests in a given rank will unlock the next rank, providing tougher challenges. Quests are further divided into Village Quests, which are a solo affair and Hub Quests which are designed for multiplayer and both types of quests have their own ranks comprised of quests unique to each quest type.

 

  • Village Quests typically serve as an introduction to the game's mechanics, locales and monsters. All content under Village Quests are considered Low Rank.
  • Hub Quests start off at Low Rank up until Lv. 3⭐. After this, quests are considered High Rank and there is a steep difficulty curve that you will need to prepare for.
  • You can unlock most features by diving right into Hub Quests. However, while these quests can be completed solo, keep in mind that they are designed for Multiplayer and can prove to be quite difficult for beginners.
  • There are also Special License Tests that you can unlock if you've been focusing on Village Quests. These tests allow you to advance your Hub Quest progress by 1 Rank without having to complete all the associated Key Quests. These quests become available if your Village Quest rank is 4⭐ or more while your Hub Quest rank is below a certain number. Note that these quests will disappear if you complete the Hub Quest progression for that rank normally.

Village Quest Progression

Lv. 1⭐ Village Quests

Key Unlocks

Completing Great Izuchi, Great Pain unlocks the following:

 

Lv. 2⭐ Village Quests

  1. Complete any 3 of the following:
  2. Complete the Urgent Quest Feathered Frenzy

Key Unlocks

Completing Feathered Frenzy unlocks the following:

 

Lv. 3⭐Village Quests

  1. Complete any 4 of the following:
  2. After completing 2 of the above, you will unlock the first Rampage Quest The Rampage Approaches. Complete this quest to continue.
  3. After completing 4 Key Quests, complete the Urgent Quest Monkey Wrench in Your Plans.

Key Unlocks

Completing The Rampage Approaches unlocks the following:

  • Smithy
    • Ramp-up Skills
  • Cohoot Outfit
    • Garb of Glad Tidings (From Komitsu the Sweettooth)

Completing Monkey Wrench in Your Plans unlocks the following:

 

Lv. 4⭐ Village Quests

  1. Complete any 5 of the following:
  2. Complete the Urgent Quest Comeuppance

Key Unlocks

Completing Comeuppance unlocks the following:

 

Lv. 5⭐ Village Quests

  1. Complete any 4 of the following:
  2. Complete the Urgent Quest Hermit of the Swamp

Key Unlocks

Completing Hermit of the Swamp unlocks the following:

 At this point, there is nothing more you can unlock from Village Quests and you will need to move on to Hub Quests if you wish to experience more of the game.

 

Hub Quests Progression

Lv. 1⭐ Hub Quests

  1. Complete any 4 of the following:
  2. Complete the Urgent Quest Dead Ringer
  3. Alternatively, if you've reached Lv. 4⭐ Village Quests at this point, you can complete Special License Test 1 to unlock Dead Ringer without having to complete the key quests above.

Key Unlocks

Completing Dead Ringer unlocks the following:

 

Lv. 2⭐ Hub Quests

  1. Complete any 5 of the following:
  2. Complete the Urgent Quest Hellfire
  3. Alternatively, if you've reached Lv. 5⭐ Village Quests at this point, you can complete Special License Test 2 to unlock Hellfire without having to complete the key quests above.

 

Key Unlocks

 Completing Hellfire unlocks the following:

 

Lv. 3⭐ Hub Quests

  1. Complete any 6 of the following:
  2. Complete the Urgent Quest The Blue Apex
  3. Alternatively, if you've reached Lv. 6⭐ Village Quests at this point, you can complete Special License Test 3 to unlock The Blue Apex without having to complete the key quests above.

Key Unlocks

Completing The Blue Apex unlocks the following:

 

Lv. 4⭐ Hub Quests

  1. Complete any 5 of the following:
  2. Complete the Urgent Quest The Restless Swamp

Key Unlocks

 Completing The Restless Swamp unlocks the following:

 

Lv. 5⭐ Hub Quests

  1. Complete any 5 of the following:
  2. Complete the Urgent Quest A Bewitching Dance

Key Unlocks

Completing A Bewitching Dance unlocks the following:

 

 

Lv. 6⭐ Hub Quests

  1. Complete any 5 of the following:
  2. After completing 2 of the above, you will unlock the Urgent Rampage Quest Serpent God of Wind. Complete this quest to continue.
  3. After completing 5 Key Quests, complete the Urgent Quest Can't Kill it With Fire.

Key Unlocks

Completing Serpent God of Wind will allow you to take on Wind Serpent Ibushi in Rampage Quests at any time.

Completing Can't Kill it With Fire unlocks the following:

 

Lv. 7⭐ Hub Quests

  1. Complete any 4 of the following:
  2. Complete the Urgent Quest Serpent Goddess of Thunder

Key Unlocks

Completing Serpent Goddess of Thunder unlocks the following:

  • Smithy
    • Decorations Set 5
    • Armor Pigment 2
  • Market
    • Melding Tier 4 & 5
  • Meowcenaries
    • High Rank Scouting Missions (Rampage)

At this point, you'd have reached maximum progression quest-wise and should have access to all available activities in the base game. More features and quests will be added in Free Title Updates, the first of which arrives at the end of April 2021.
