MH Rise Lance Information
The Lance is Thrust-based damage weapon and can deal a Charge attack that hits multiple times, High range and counter attacks, Strongest blocking ability in the game, matched only by its cousin, the Gunlance. The Lance is a reactionary weapon that is all about sneaking in damage whenever possible. Generally, Lance playstyles almost seem to revolve around the idea of taking turns with the monster when attacking. You attack, monster attacks, you counter/dodge (depending on your build) then return attack, monster attacks, you counter/dodge then return attack, and so on. Of course, you could argue this is the same with any weapon, but this turn-based relationship is much more apparent with the Lance than most other weapons, to the point where fighting certain monsters can become almost rhythmic when you get used to the timing of attacks, attack patterns, etc. Because of this, the most useful skills on Lance are going to be those that allow you to smoothly react to incoming attacks so you can respond with your own sequence of devastating attacks.
MH Rise Lance Elemental / Status or Raw Damage?
Lance actually makes pretty good use of both elemental/status and raw damage. Its basic attacks are fairly quick, and allow you to apply a large amount of elemental/status damage. But also, the majority of the Lance's attacks have decent motion values, especially considering how quick they are, meaning you have the potential to deal a lot of raw damage just from poking the monster repeatedly. At the end of the day, whether or not you should take elemental or raw/status will mostly depend on which monster you are facing and your own personal preferences.

Creating this build around the Tigrex Lance, The Valstrax Set optimizes damage output, being one of the best available Amor sets in Monster Hunter Rise. Speed Sharpening has been added to reduce sharpening time as well, allowing for faster attacks and quick combat. Affinity with the Lance will also be a factor to focus on as it is a great way to deal DPS.

This build is made around the main Weapon, Night Rains Black which comes with the Rampage Skills. Attack Boost III, Affinity Boost II
and Master Rider. It is a Critical Damage build that prioritizes Attack Boost, followed by the Skills known to boost attack such as Critical Boost and Weakness Exploit. This will Increase the damage of critical hits and Increase the affinity of attacks that exploit a monster weak spot. Accompany this with a complementing deco set to further enhance the skills and maximize damage output.
