MH Rise Heavy Bowgun Build Guide

The Heavy Bowgun is known for its powerful-long range damage, Its ammo has the ability ot explode and create more damaging effects unlike the Light Bowgun. It has that extra explosive step to consider when choosing Armor and the Skills that accompany them. Since this weapon attacks at a slower speed, it is important to highlight some Skills to help enhance the damage output and increase the speed to make up for the mobility of this weapon type. Ammunition comes in every elemental and status damage type, as well as ammo suitable for short or long range. Ramp-up Skills can further add more ammo types to your bowgun. Always check the ammo capabilities of your bowgun before building.

The Heavy Bowgun is a tanky ranged weapon that comes with a built-in shield capable of blocking most monster attacks. This allows the Heavy Bowgun to approach monsters head on, firing shot after shot before using their shields to guard against any incoming attacks from the monster before resuming its unceasing barrage of damage. Because of the Heavy Bowgun's ability to tank monster attacks while also dealing a massive amount of damage in return, the Heavy Bowgun will benefit mostly from skills that improve its defensive capabilities as well as its DPS. As one of the two "Bowguns" in the game, the Heavy Bowgun also has an entire set of skills that are designed specifically to enhance its performance as a ranged weapon.

MH Rise Heavy Bowgun Elemental / Status or Raw Damage?

For the Heavy Bowgun, raw damage is almost always the better choice when it comes to dealing the most DPS. Unlike the Light Bowgun, the Heavy Bowgun cannot rapid fire elemental ammo, meaning it has no reliable way to apply elemental damage quickly. Rather, the Heavy Bowgun was designed with the intent of making each shot do enormous amounts of damage, compared to the Light Bowgun which generally can shoot ammo more quickly, but with less damage per shot. As a result, the best Heavy Bowgun builds are usually those that focus on making each shot do as much damage as possible, which means stacking up on as much raw damage as possible.

MHRise Critical Heavy Bowgun Build

This build starts off with a solid 220 Attack level and a 155 Defense. Focusing on a higher attack and damage output allows characters to deal damage while still keeping a distance. While using a Heavy Bowgun it is also important to keep up the momentum with a quick reload speed and attack time.
