Talismans in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR or MHRise) are a special type of Equipment that Hunters can wear. Much like Armor, Talismans come with skill points that contribute towards a Hunter's equipped Skills. Talismans are equipped in the Talisman slot and are obtained by using the Melding Pot. Talismans and their Skills are a largely random affair, with no absolute guarantee on what Skills a melded Talisman will possess. However, they are a key addition to a Hunter's arsenal and acquiring several different combinations can provide a lot of flexibility to a loadout.

Melding Talismans

The Melding Pot is unlocked as you progress in the game and its services are available through Kagero the Merchant via the Market as well as at the Guild Store in the Gathering Hub. Melding Talismans require materials from Monsters and other sources. When choosing the Melding Pot at the Market, you are given the option to pick a Meld type or tier. At first, you will only have access to the Melding - Reflecting Pool tier but more tiers can be unlocked as you progress through the story.

Upon choosing a Melding type, you can then choose a Skill to acquire. Note that the first three melding tiers each have a different set of skills available for acquisition and each skill has a predetermined chance of being acquired. The percentage chance may vary across melding tiers, even if the chosen skill is the same. After making your choices, the meld request is put in and the Talisman will be available for pick-up after you complete a quest. You can put in multiple requests at once. However, only one request will be finished per quest completed. Progressing through the story will allow you to put in more requests at once as well as granting access to the higher tiers which allow the crafting of more talismans per request, increasing your talisman yield per quest completed.

The Free Title Update 5 introduced 2 new Melding options, Vigor and Cyclus, that provides Talismans in exchange for Afflicted Materials and other Anomaly-related Materials. Cyclus is now Monster Hunter Rise's best Melding option, with the largest selection of Skills at 4 pages and a guaranteed chance of getting a sill selected.

MHR Talisman Information

  • Given the random nature of Talismans and their attached Skills, there is no standard for the obtained in-game item.
  • Talismans can also be created with Decoration slots, ranging from 1-3 slots with any combination of slot levels 1-3. Again this is entirely random. However, the higher melding tiers tend to give better slots.
  • Talismans are named by Rarity. For example, Rarity 4 Talismans are all named Deluge Talisman, while Rarity 5 are all named Windstorm Talisman. Be careful not to mix up your favored talismans.

Melding Pot Catalyst

  • Use an MP Accelerant to instantly complete melding without the need to go on a quest. An MP Accelerant can be used with every type of alchemy.
  • When Melding Talismans, you will be prompted to spend one MP Accelerant to receive a Talisman immediately. After this process, you will receive the Melding results and you may select the talismans to send to your box. Choosing to continue the process without the accelerant will require you to wait through one quest completion before receiving the Talisman results.
  • This material can be obtained via "backroom deals" on your requested buddy items at the Argosy

How to get XX Talisman in MHR?

Unlike in Monster Hunter World, Talismans (called Charms in MHW) are not crafted and are instead acquired randomly through a process called Melding. Depending on the Melding type, and therefore the rarity of the Talisman you obtain, you can have up to 5 levels of Skills on a Talisman (e.g. 3 Attack Boost and 2 Weakness Exploit). Each Talisman can also roll up to 3 Decoration slots, the highest slot being a level 3 slot. There are three main Melding types in Monster Hunter Rise.

One allows you to pick a specific Skill, which has a set chance to appear on the Talisman. These Melding methods include Reflecting Pool, Haze, Moonbow, and Aurora. For the next type of Melding, you do not choose a Skill, but instead the Talisman rolls through all the Skills available. In exchange for the lack of choice, Talismans created under these types of Melding have a higher chance of having multiple Decoration slots. These Melding methods include Wisp of Mystery and Anima. The final type of Melding takes old Talismans to create new ones, rolling through all available Skills, allowing players to recycle Talismans with undesirable Skills. These Melding Methods include Rebirth and Reincarnation.

Players might be wondering what the best ways to get specific Talismans are. How do I get an Attack Boost 3 Talisman in MHR? How do I get a Constitution Talisman? How do I get an AB3 WEx 3-1-1 Talisman? How do I get a good Talisman in Monster Hunter Rise? In base Monster Hunter Rise, your best bet is to run the Wisp of Mystery Melding option as it can roll Skills missing in the other available Melding options (most notably Attack Boost) and has the highest chance to give you good Decoration slots. In Sunbreak, however, they introduced the Aurora Melding option that gives you a 100% chance of rolling a one skill of your choice. With this Melding option, you are guaranteed to roll on at least one Skill key to your build, and have a much higher chance of rolling into what some players call 'god rolls' — Talismans with perfect Skills and Skill levels suited to your build, as well as excellent Decoration slots.

With the introduction of Cyclus with the Free Title Update 5, players can slot in skills previously limited to Armor, such as Kushala Blessing, and other previously hard to get skills with a 100% chance, the caveat being that it takes a significant amount of Afflicted Materials to do so.

All Talismans MH Rise

Monster Hunter Rise offers a variety of talismans to aid you in your hunt. Talismans are special items that give you powerful bonuses such as increased attack and defense power, increased health, increased movement speed, and more. The best talismans depend on the type of hunt you are trying to complete. For example, if you are trying to complete a speed run, you may want to equip a talisman that increases your movement speed. If you are trying to fight a tougher monster, you may want to equip a talisman that increases your attack power.

Talisman Melding Tiers MH Rise

How to upgrade the Melding Pot in MHR

In Monster Hunter Rise, Talismans are not upgraded like they are in Monster Hunter World. Instead, the Rarity of the Talisman, and therefore the number of Skills and Decoration slots as well as their levels, are determines by which Melding option you choose. im seeing some youtubers who had either dragon conversion or furious.
According to this list, thats not even possible to roll, or is that only trough vigor/random rolls?

It seems level 3 is the maximum a skill can have on a talisman. But it also seems that there are some skills that cannot be present together on the same talisman. It also seems you cannot meld a talisman with more than 2 individual skills on it.

man if they added guard and guard up to the talisman pools that would buff lance and gunlance pretty nicely, making it so they dont have to waste like 70% of their slots trying to get guard and guard up so they can have worse counters than a long sword/actually be able to slot damage without sacrificing survivability
