Bone Material in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR or MH Rise) is a Material Type that includes Low Rank Bone-related Materials. Materials are primarily used to forge and upgrade gear including Weapons, Armor as well as Palico and Palamute Equipment.
- While each individual Material has specific purposes in crafting, certain Weapons and Armor pieces will only require items within a Material Type instead of multiples of a particular item. In such cases, any combination of materials within the Material Type can be used to forge the item. Each material has a Point Value assigned to it and items crafted using this method will each have a Point Requirement. For example, the Bone Barong I weapon requires 10pts in Bone Materials. In order to upgrade to this weapon, you will need to turn in enough Bone-type materials at the Smithy so that the sum of their Point Values meets or exceeds the requirement.
- Note that Low Rank Materials may sometimes be obtained in High Rank activities but as a rule of thumb, if you are farming for Low Rank Materials, it is best to do so in Low Rank settings. High Rank materials will never appear in Low Rank settings (with a few exceptions).
- For High Rank Bone Materials, see the Bone+ Material page.
