MH Rise Apex Arzuros Characteristics & Ecology

An Arzuros so mighty, it was crowned an Apex. It is eternally possessed by wrath and terror, possibly due to the myriad wounds that cover its body. Its forelegs are massive, deft removers of any who'd stand in their way. The call of an Apex unleashes its tortured anger on nearby beasts, driving them into a frenzy.

Apex Arzuros is the first Apex Monster to make an appearance in Monster Hunter Rise. Apex Monsters are a new variant of regular Monsters who have survived attacks by Thunder Serpent Narwa and Wind Serpent Ibushi, the sources of the Rampage in Kamura Village. These Monsters are so powerful that they have evolved to become leaders of the horde, commanding lesser Monsters through the Rampage with bloodcurdling roars and a dark, gruesome power.

Apex Arzuros typically appears much larger than the standard Arzuros. Its coat is a darker black and grey, and its body is covered in multiple scars from battle which glow a bright red when the Monster is enraged. Apex Arzuros also has abnormally large, menacing forearms which it uses to violently slash at its prey.

MH Rise Apex Arzuros Combat Info

An angry Apex Arzuros will trigger a devastating move, closing in while thrashing the ground, hitting obstacles with a colossal strike. Push on against an enraged Apex to quickly rid it of its range and steady its temper.

  • Threat Level: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Physical Damage monster
  • Enraged Mode: Apex Monsters are always enraged.
  • Rampage: During Rampage missions that include Apex Arzuros, it will serve as the final Major Threat. Apex Monsters are not limited by the standard Rampage Roles that other monsters fall under and will tend to fill all three. Apexes have a tendency to go for any intact gates before the final one, often making short work of them and forcing a last stand at the final gate. Apex Monsters are highly dangerous and can destroy platforms and Hunting Installations. They can also call on hordes of monsters and enrage them with their roar. When an Apex releases a particularly deafening roar, this signals that they are charging up for a devastating attack which will deal massive damage to the final gate if not stopped. Strategic use of the Counter Gong and other Hunting Installations is the key to stopping these attacks and setting up windows of opportunity for a counter.

wait there is acetal stuff requiring material's from an apex I thought they didn't drop anything cause the tutorial said that it isn't worth fighting them implying that they can't be killed but they are very killable

      • Anonymous

So do the apex monsters have their own separate armor and weapons or are they just for materials required to upgrade equipment?

        • Anonymous

Will we have new enhancements in our beloved beastly monsters because I think it has nothing to do with the gore magala or the magnamalo because I've heard that there will be a greater threat than this propagating the apex state.

          • Anonymous

Who is apex and the state of gore magala or something to do with the magnamalo or other monster that is doing it?
